Macey and Chloe were the winners of the Windmill Construction contest in Mrs. Madsen’s Economics classes. Students were tasked to build prototypes all while learning the economic benefits of wind energy.

The CHS Tiger debate team competed at the Johnston "Dragon" Debate Tournament on Saturday, December 3rd.
Daniel, Chloe, and Keira competed in Public Forum Debate. Sydney, Katelyn, and Maia competed in Congressional debate.
Sydney was ranked #1 in her Congress chamber and qualified for a National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) plaque or gavel.
Keira and Chloe broke out of prelims and competed against a Des Moines Christian team in semifinals. There were 21 competitors in Novice Public Forum. Keira, Chloe, and Daniel ranked 7th-9th (in speaker points) out of 21 competitors. The team Keira and Chloe faced in out rounds went on to place first overall in Novice Public Forum at Johnston.

Carroll Paws placed 4th in class 5 jazz and 4th in class 6 hip hop. All solos got a Division I rating. Three solos placed in the top 10 out of 70 solos. Autumn Fortner placed 9th, Riley Nagl placed 8th, and Macey Weber placed 4th. The team also received a Distinguished Academic Award for a team 3.5-4.0 GPA.

The HS basketball teams are teaming up with St. Anthony's Hospital. From now until Dec. 16th, we are accepting coloring, activity, and reading books for kids up to 5th grade. The books will be given to pediatric patients. You can drop off the books at your child's school.


Despite the cold weather, the Carroll Tigers Debaters performed well at the CAM Western Iowa League of Debate (WILD) Virtual Tournament #2 on November 29.
Daniel and Keira won all three rounds in Novice Public Forum and ranked second overall in the tournament.
Syndey and Maia competed in Congressional Debate, where they ranked second and sixth, respectively,
in their Student Congress Chamber).
Rick Hunsaker and Jeff Hughes served as judges during the tournament.
